Within the past year, I’ve discovered how important organization actually is. In 2017 I started high school, which meant that I had to get prepared. During the summer of last year, I made sure that I had everything sorted out and that I had all of the supplies I was going to need to go into freshman year. I even wrote down an after-school schedule for when I arrived home from school …which I have since failed to follow.
I find that when I don’t organize myself, I feel much more stressed than I do when I take the time to make everything neat and easy for me to access. So I want to start 2018 by reducing the stress and staying on top of things by being well-organized. School isn’t the only place I needed to be organized, there are so many aspects of life that require a bit of sorting and cleaning.
Take your closet, for example, it is always a great feeling when everything in your closet is tidy and crisp. Or when you have all of your plans for the week perfectly laid out in a notebook or a planner. Planners are one of the best ways to organize your life, as well as add a visual representation of your ideas and plans for the year. I personally find that its much more comforting to be able to document my future somewhere that I can access easily, whether it be in the planner on my desk or the Reminders app on my phone.
And how about that bedroom…Cleaning your bedroom usually sounds like such a chore, I know, but regardless of how boring it may be, you have to admit, we ALL like a nice, clean room. I like to believe that having a clean room is the first step to having an organized life, because if you can’t even bring yourself to pick up the clothes off of your floor at LEAST once a month, how will you bring yourself to organize anything else? Now, that may sound a tad bit extreme, but do you catch my drift? What I’m basically trying to get across is that having an organized room can be one of the first steps you take in organizing your life (besides purchasing a planner).
So, to recap, your Top 2 Priorities in 2018 to get organized are:
Clean room= a happier you, and a happier you= a brighter day!
